Hi There!
Thank you for visiting. I am delighted to introduce myself as an assistant professor in the Epidemiology Program within the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware. Originating from a medical background trained in India, my journey from clinical practice to public health policy has been shaped by observing seasonal epidemics in India. These epidemics, rooted in socioeconomic disparities and limited health literacy regarding risk factors, motivated my transition.
In my research pursuits, I delve into vital areas such as social determinants of health, disparities in chronic disease risk factors and outcomes, issues related to substance use—specifically marijuana and e-cigarette use—and research on aging and disability. My work has found its way into esteemed journals including the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Annals of Epidemiology, Stroke, American Journal of Cardiology, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, and Disability and Health, among others. Additionally, I am privileged to contribute as a member of the editorial board for BMC Public Health's section on Social Determinants of Health.
Thank you for your interest, and please feel free to explore further and reach out!
